Seriously, I think I’ve tried most of them. And thanks to my monthly subscription to BirchBox if you look under by bathroom sink you’ll know what I mean.
BUT I really do ❤ the stuff & if I’m honest, one of my favorite things about it is I don’t have to use the most expensive brand for good results. (Batiste, Suave and Pantene are my top picks for the best bang for your buck @ $5-$6)
You might be thinking what does a gal with short hair know about dry shampoo?
Well, I haven’t ALWAYS had short hair…so trust me on this one, okay?
Here are a few things I’ve learned about getting the best results from your dry shampoo:
*Apply at night before you go to bed
*Apply directly to the roots (not all over) for best results…be sure to hit the sides and back of your head, too
*If you use too much, just blow dry it out a bit
*It doesn’t work well if applied to wet hair. That’s one of the reasons I use it before bed and not after my morning shower.
*Let it sit for a bit (about 5 minutes or so) before you massage it in/brush it out
*Use it to boost volume and texture- even on just washed hair
If you feel like you have to wash your hair everyday, I totally get it.
I was a NaySayer for a long time, but I can tell you it really works for me! Dry shampoo is a game-changer if you workout everyday, like I do. It might not seem like a lot, but those 20 minutes I save after a sweaty workout allow me an extra cup of coffee several days a week.
By the way, (the original) dry shampoo has been around for years. I remember my momma telling me to sprinkle a little bit of baby powder into my hair when I was a teenager. It’s a great substitute if you need it!
